Charleston, S.C. – Ellen Weaver announced today that conservative U.S. Senator Tim Scott has officially endorsed her campaign.

Senator Scott is a nationally recognized leader on education innovation and opportunity. Whether it’s tackling the skills gap, making sure children have access to the educational environment best suited for them, or working to bring everyone to the table to find solutions, Senator Scott fights for South Carolinians every single day in the U.S. Senate.

“I’ve known Ellen Weaver for more than ten years. Ellen is a conservative champion for students, teachers, and parents in South Carolina, and I know she will move our state’s education system in the right direction as our next Superintendent of Education. Please join me in supporting Ellen Weaver for State Superintendent in the Republican Primary Runoff on June 28th,” said Senator Scott.

U.S. Senator Tim Scott joins former U.S. Senator Jim DeMint, Congressmen Jeff Duncan, Ralph Norman, and William Timmons, 7th Congressional District Republican nominee Russell Fry, former State Superintendents Mick Zais and Barbara Nielsen, and a massive list of more than 30 state lawmakers who support Ellen’s campaign.

“Every child should have the opportunity to meet their God-given potential. Senator Tim Scott is America’s best advocate for the conservative reforms needed to improve education and give parents greater control over their children’s education futures. He strongly agrees with me that every student deserves a high-quality education, regardless of their zip code. It is going to take all of us working together to fix South Carolina’s education crisis, and I am so honored to have Senator Scott join our team,” said Ellen Weaver.

Weaver received more than 78,000 votes in the June 14th Republican primary and will face Kathy Maness in the June 28th Republican Primary Runoff.
