Laurens, S.C. – Republican Congressman Jeff Duncan of South Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District has announced his support for Ellen Weaver in the State Superintendent of Education race.
Rep. Duncan is widely considered one of the most conservative leaders in Congress. His endorsement signals Weaver’s strong momentum headed into the last two months of the Primary.
Duncan has known Ellen Weaver personally for over a decade. He believes Weaver’s history of working for conservative policy will help South Carolina families begin to have more choices in education.
Duncan said, “Ellen understands the value of competition in schools. Her conservative credentials are unquestioned and her personal faith in the Lord is inspiring. Ellen will provide transformational leadership to jumpstart our state’s education department.
“I know she will invest the time and effort into listening to parents, students, and teachers alike and then she will make the tough decisions to move us forward. She’s a winner and I hope other Palmetto State conservatives will join me today in supporting her campaign.”
Duncan’s endorsement comes on the heels of Weaver’s announcement of her continued record-breaking fundraising haul ($270,000+) during her first four months of campaigning.
